Front and rear bumpers of buses are typical applications of vacuum forming. Using ABS or modified PP sheets, vacuum forming allows for the creation of streamlined curved surfaces in one piece, replacing traditional metal materials and reducing weight by more than 30%. The sheet undergoes UV protection treatment, making it resistant to fading and cracking even after long-term outdoor use, and suitable for complex road conditions and climates.

 

Furthermore, bus components such as radiator grilles, license plate frames, rearview mirror housings, and roof spoilers are also largely manufactured using plastic sheet vacuum forming. Radiator grilles commonly use PMMA sheet, balancing light transmittance and aging resistance; rearview mirror housings use ABS sheet, offering a refined design and impact and wear resistance.

 

Plastic sheet vacuum-formed exterior parts have become an important choice for lightweighting and cost reduction in buses. With upgrades in materials and processes, the strength and weather resistance of vacuum-formed parts continue to improve, and they will occupy an even more important position in the future of bus exterior parts.
