The ABS board process can be divided into upstream and downstream processes.

The upstream process refers to melting, casting, hot rolling, cold rolling, etc., which are the same as other high-precision plates and strips. The downstream process refers to heat treatment, surface treatment, stretch bending correction, smoothing agent coating, longitudinal and transverse cutting, fine cutting, and deep processing. Its downstream process is much more complex and has many more procedures than other high-precision plates and strips. It can be simply expressed as: unwinding heat treatment, air cushion furnace (can be heated by fuel, electricity or electromagnetic induction) solid solution treatment (temperature 500~600 ℃) or annealing, water quenching/air quenching surface treatment (cleaning and transformation treatment) - bending car - coating smooth and uniform - coiling, etc.

Heat treatment, conversion treatment, and coating with smoothing agents are key processes, and the production of ABS sheet and strip depends on the amount of these processes. In addition to the functions of solid solution and annealing, the heat treatment process should also have the function of producing T4P (pre aged) state coils, which is a unique state for producing heat treatable reinforced ABS strips. Conversion treatment is to stop chemical oxidation treatment in a mixture of fluorozirconium/titanium acid, and generate a passive film on the surface of aluminum. The basic chemical elements are titanium, zirconium, aluminum, oxygen, and fluorine. The film has a mass of 1-4mg/dm2 and a density of 2.8g/cm3, which is thinner than the anodic oxide film but much thicker than the natural oxide film. It is colorless or slightly blue, and is a good base layer for adsorption and smooth adhesion. At the same time, it has good corrosion resistance and can effectively maintain the ABS strip from corrosion within the shelf life (6 months); Smooth agents can be both dry and wet, and can be sprayed or rolled. After being dried or cured, the smooth agent film can provide good smooth conditions for sheet metal stamping, making it easy to form.

The downstream disposal process of ABS sheet can be built into a fully continuous production line, or into two or three independent production lines. The centerline can be in one plane, or it can be built into an elevated or double-layer structure. The relatively high speed of a fully continuous production line should not exceed 150m/min to produce approximately 120kt/a.

How to control various parameters when coloring ABS board?

There are ABS sheets available in various colors on the market, which are obtained by coloring to meet different requests regarding the color of ABS sheets. The coloring process of ABS sheet may seem simple, but there are also many demand issues, otherwise it will also affect the coloring effect or the quality of the sheet.

When the ABS board is in the coloring process, there are usually multiple temperature zones in the mixing chamber of the injection molding machine or extruder. It is requested that the temperature near the discharge port should be slightly higher in order to quickly solidify the colorants after entering the mixing chamber and mix evenly with the plastic resin. This is beneficial for the colorants to be well dispersed in the product.

At the same time, it is necessary to apply appropriate back pressure to the injection molding machine, which can improve the mixing effect of the screw and also be more conducive to the dispersion of pigments. But the reverse effect of applying back pressure on ABS sheet coloring is also clear, which will slow down the injection molding speed and affect production efficiency.

In addition, when coloring ABS sheets, it is important to pay attention to increasing the temperature of the extruder die appropriately, which can help increase the brightness of the product. These are all things to pay attention to, and any slight neglect may have the opposite effect, so be sure to pay attention when coloring ABS sheets.

In fact, it's not just about the coloring of ABS sheets. There are corresponding attention standards for any production process of any product. We must strictly abide by the rules to ensure the smooth completion of the production process and achieve the ideal processing effect of the product.
